Neighborhood House's Adopt A Family program has been a cornerstone of community support for many years, uniting generous individuals and organizations with those who need a little extra help during the holiday season.
Bringing the joy of the season to our neighbors in need
From our offices in Wilmington and Middletown, our staff and volunteers manage the application process and ensure donors are made aware of the needs that exist, providing information on age, gender, clothing sizes, and special wishes. Last year alone, 365 households were able to experience the joy of the season thanks to the generosity of others.
For Adopt A Family to work, community participation is crucial — without donations of food and gifts this program would not be possible. Our Family Services team invites anyone interested in participating, whether as a recipient family or donor, to contact the Neighborhood House office closest to you.

For donors interested in signing up to adopt a family in need this holiday season, please call our Middletown office at (302) 378-7217, email Alyssa Reed, or stop by our office Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.
Families living in the M.O.T. area should complete their Wish Lists after they've called our Middletown office.
For families interested in signing up to receive a holiday meal or gifts, please call the Middletown office at (302) 378-7217. You must call to get signed up. If you are signing up for gifts, you must complete a Wish List and return it to us. You will not be officially signed up until we receive your Wish List. You can print this form and return it to our office Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.
