Family Services & Homeless Prevention

Designed to assist families and individuals in crisis to meet their immediate basic need for food, clothing, heat, electricity diapers, school supplies and co-pays.

Neighborhood

Empowerment Center

The Neighborhood Empowerment Center is located on the third floor our NHI. In this space we will provide programs that that will equip individuals with tools needed for success. We will provide programs that will teach computer and workforce development skills, as well as financial workshops throughout the year. All training courses and workshops are free of charge, as funding allows.

Youth Development

For our Middle School and High School Students, we focus on College and Career Readiness. We provide Career and Job Readiness Workshops, Career Exploration (Summer Youth Program), College Tours and Visitations, and encourage and provide Volunteer opportunities (Community Service). Learn more here.

Housing Counseling & Foreclosure Prevention

Our Housing Counseling department provides a full range of services and advice to housing consumers in order to increase the number of homeowners and tenants by assisting them to purchase, rent and maintain affordable housing.

Neighborhood House Early Learning Center

The fully licensed Early Learning Center provides high quality early care and education to children from birth through age three.  In addition, through the partnership with New Directions Early Head Start ongoing family engagement and support are provided to each family by family support specialists who are embedded into the program.  The Center is also a participant in Delaware Stars for Early Success and is currently rated a Star 5 – the highest quality rating in the Quality Rating Improvement Scale.
