The Privilege We've Been Given and the Challenge It Creates

Helping people breathe again. That’s what our Family Services team strives to make possible for everyone who walks through our doors.

Sometimes the ends don’t meet — there’s more month than money to get through it — and that’s where we step in to help.

By providing crisis counseling, food, utility and rental assistance, and gifts during the holidays, we’re able to relieve some of the pressure our neighbors are feeling.

And with your support, we can continue to be a lifeline for those who are teetering on the edge of homelessness:

It's a privilege for us to take “a load of worry” off our clients, but it's not something we can do alone. We need your support.

More than 1,300 households have already received assistance this year, and that number is expected to increase in 2023.

As we continue to face unprecedented demand for our services, it becomes more of a challenge to keep up. That's why we need your help.

By making a donation to the Homelessness Prevention Fund, you provide hope to children and their families. You also stabilize our efforts to help our neighbors breathe again.

I long for a day when children and families are no longer on the verge of homelessness, but that time has not yet come. Until it does, Neighborhood House will stand in the gap. Will you stand with us?

Even as I ask that question of you, I'm reminded of the child born to Mary and Joseph. In Jesus Christ, God stood with us. He refused to let darkness or hate win. Love was born in Bethlehem, and we are still feeling the extraordinary impact of his birth.

Christmas is a time to celebrate the coming of Christ — to be reminded that every challenge we face is an opportunity to encounter the love of God.

Today, I hope you know just how much you are loved. And how much we appreciate having you on this journey with us.
