If you’re struggling to pay your utility bill, help is available.
Our community has been hit hard by rising energy costs, and no one should have to choose between heating their home and putting food on the table.
Start with the resources below, and if you need more support, we’re here.
Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund
One-time assistance up to $500 for eligible Delmarva Power electric and gas customers; available to households up to 350% of the federal poverty level ($54,000 for a single person; $112,525 for a family of 4).
Delaware Energy Fund
One-time $300 assistance for non-Delmarva customers; available to households up to 350% of the federal poverty level.
LIHEAP
Winter heating assistance from October 1 through March 31 for households earning less than 60% of Delaware’s median income.
Weatherization Assistance Program
Weatherproofing and home efficiency upgrades for households under 60% of the state median income.
Home Energy Checkup and Counseling (HEC2)
Reduced-cost home energy assessments, including installation of energy-saving products and recommendations for energy efficiency improvements.
At Neighborhood House, we know that a utility bill is rarely just a utility bill. It’s one more pressure on top of groceries, childcare, rent, and everything else you’re managing right now. That’s why we’re here — not just to share resources, but to walk alongside you when things get hard.
If you or someone you know needs help, don’t wait. Reach out to us directly, visit one of our locations, or share this post with someone who could use it. No one in our community should face these kinds of challenges alone.
