Matching Gift Challenge: Help Us Unlock $15,000 by June 30

Something important is happening this month, and we'd love for you to be a part of it.

A generous donor has pledged to match every gift made to Neighborhood House between now and June 30, dollar for dollar, up to $15,000. That means every person who gives while the match is active has their donation doubled. A $50 gift becomes $100. A $500 gift becomes $1,000.

This match comes at a critical moment. Costs are up across the board, and the families who come to Neighborhood House are feeling the pressure. We feel it, too. The same forces putting a strain on our neighbors' household budgets are weighing on ours as well.

While seasons like this are challenging, they’re also a reminder of why we do this work. It’s all about investing in people — people like Kellie and her son, Jarrin.

Jarrin has been part of our Youth Development Program for four years. It's where he spends his out-of-school time and gets the support he needs while his mom is at work. As Kellie puts it, "As a single parent working full time and managing life, sometimes you need a village to help with the upbringing. For us, Neighborhood House is a second family."

At our Annual Meeting, she told us what that's meant to her and Jarrin: "I've seen personal growth and development along with elevated social skills. With all the things the youth program offers, he's always involved in something positive, educational, and confidence boosting. I'm extremely thankful for all the staff that interacts with him on a daily basis.”

She went further, crediting our team with "always being so inspiring and encouraging Jarrin to be great.” That’s what second families do — show up, day after day, with the kind of love and support that doesn’t waver.

There are hundreds of families who come to Neighborhood House every year, each with a story of their own. Whether they turn to us for early childhood education, youth development, family services, or housing counseling, they’re met by caring people who are ready to help.
