In what may go down as one of our best and busiest summers ever, I knew I needed to write a quick update, just to keep you informed and connected to all that's going on at Neighborhood House.
We Love Our Youth
Our Youth Development team provided an unforgettable summer experience for almost 70 kids. When it was all said and done, our youth walked away grateful but tearful, touched by the care of staff and mentors. And so excited about what awaits them next summer! My heart was so blessed by the memories they made and the countless ways their lives were enriched.
If you'd like to get a glimpse of our youth's summer experience, there's no better place to do that than Facebook. We are regularly updating our page with pictures, videos, stories, and announcements. And if social media's not your thing, you can, of course, follow along on our website.
Playground Design Day Announced
Back in April, I came to you with an audacious plan to build a playground for our Youth Development and Preschool programs. Your support — which came in the form of donations, encouragement, prayer, and advice — put wind in our sails. It gave us the courage to move forward, knowing you were behind us.
I'm happy to report that we are on the verge of transforming 512 S. Claymont Street into a place where our kids can learn, grow, and have fun. In fact, a Design Day has been announced. This event will give kids and adults a chance to participate in the creation of their dream playground.
If you're free on the afternoon of September 8, we would love to have you join us for Design Day — the more the merrier!
A Gateway to Hope
Even after seven years in this role, I'm still amazed by all that goes on at Neighborhood House. Lives are changed everyday. It's such a privilege for us to be a gateway to hope and opportunity.
Thank you for being part of the story God is writing in Southbridge and Middletown!
