At Neighborhood House, we know that meaningful work happens when passionate people come together. We're seeking an Administrative Associate to join our team of changemakers — someone who thrives on the details that move our mission forward.
What This Role Entails
This is not your typical administrative role. Yes, you'll process payroll and maintain databases, but you'll also be drafting thank you letters that make donors feel appreciated. You'll prepare packets for new board members who bring fresh perspectives to our century-old mission. And when our Annual Meeting rolls around? You'll be behind the scenes, making sure everything from invitations to catering comes together flawlessly.
Some days you'll be managing our CRM, Little Green Light, keeping track of the generous supporters who fund our work. Other days, you might find yourself greeting families at our front desk, offering that first warm welcome to people taking brave steps toward a better future. In this role, flexibility is key.
Why This Role Matters
Every spreadsheet you update, every meeting packet you prepare, every thank you letter you send — it all connects to something bigger. Your work directly supports families finding stable housing, children thriving in quality early learning programs, and youth discovering their potential through our programs.
Working primarily from our Wilmington headquarters, with monthly visits to our Middletown office, you'll have a front-row seat to how our programs impact lives across New Castle County.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings either an Associate's degree or 5+ years of administrative experience, along with strong Microsoft Office and database management skills. You'll need a valid driver's license and your own vehicle with insurance. Above all, we're looking for someone who brings genuine warmth and positivity to their work.
We want someone who can juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail, work independently when needed, and collaborate seamlessly with the rest of our team.
Why You'll Love Working Here
Beyond competitive pay, we provide comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401K. Ongoing training, PTO, and holiday pay are also included. But perhaps the most valuable benefit is the satisfaction of knowing your organizational skills and positive energy directly support our mission to provide transformational programs that positively impact our community.
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you're someone who gets energized by variety in your workday, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and wants to be part of an organization that's been changing lives since 1927, we'd love to hear from you.
This role offers the perfect blend of meaningful work, professional growth, and the chance to be part of something truly impactful. You'll work alongside passionate colleagues who understand that administrative excellence isn't just about efficiency — it's about creating the systems that allow life-changing work to happen every day.
