Updated: Apr 18, 2023

The Neighborhood House Family continues to grow! As we bid farewell to Mrs. Joanne Parker-Henry, who kept our Youth Development running smoothly and efficiently for the last several years, we welcome Beverly Beckles, Th. D.

Beverly has been devoted to training and empowering youth for over thirty years. As a teenager she served as a peer mentor for her high school and local church youth group. As the Executive Director for the Word of Mouth Empowerment Network (DE), she created and executed eleven community based youth programs for children of all ages. As the University of Delaware Upward Bound Counselor she designed both academic year and summer enrichment programs for high school students throughout New Castle County. Recently, as the Communications Manager for a large pediatric dental office, she coordinated youth enrichment programs including “Stop the Violence” events and “Back to School” rallies. She has also provided direct services to youth who were either homeless, abandoned/abused, or placed in foster care.

She became a licensed minister at age 23, since she has founded and or overseen a myriad of youth leadership training and bible study groups. Currently she serves as the Executive Pastor for Kingdom Life Fellowship Center, Dover, DE, and the Women’s Pastor for Word Alive Worship Center, Philadelphia, PA. She is a gifted song writer, choreographer and a new author.

“Ms. Bev,” as she is affectionately called by the youth she works with, has been blessed with two biological and four “bonus” children. She is married to Dr. Errol Beckles, and resides in Middletown, DE.

Welcome aboard, Beverly!
