You know that person who makes everything better wherever they go? That's Renee White.
Renee first joined us in 2004 as interim director of our Early Head Start program, then spent time as a teacher in our one-year-old classroom. After some years away, she returned in 2018 and picked up right where she left off — teaching our little ones.
In December 2022, Renee embraced an exciting new chapter at Neighborhood House, transitioning to our Housing department. This past August, she achieved her HUD certification as a housing counselor — yet another example of her commitment to sharpening her skills so she can make things better.
What motivates Renee in her work? "I truly love being able to help others," she says, and that heart shines through in everything she does. She now helps around 30 families a year — whether they're taking their first step towards homeownership or working to stay in a home they already own.
When she's not helping families find or maintain stable, affordable housing, Renee treasures time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Renee's dedication to our mission, her willingness to take on new challenges, and her passion to help others make her such a valued member of our team. We're so grateful she’s at Neighborhood House, continuing to make a difference in our community.
Thank you, Renee, for all the ways you lift others up!
At Neighborhood House, our greatest strength has always been our people. This series highlights the staff members who bring heart, dedication, and purpose to their work every day. Their stories remind us that behind every meal served, every family helped, and every life changed, there's someone who genuinely cares.
