Every week, neighbors walk through our doors in Wilmington and Middletown looking for a little help with groceries. Maybe it's a parent whose hours got cut, a senior whose medication costs went up, or a family dealing with an unexpected expense. Our food pantries have always been there when times get tough. But right now, we're running critically low on essentials at both locations. Donations haven't kept pace with the growing number of people who need support. In order to keep up, we need more food coming in on a regular basis.
What's Needed Most
For those struggling to make ends meet, these pantries are a lifeline. And it's the kindness and generosity of others that makes it all possible. Without the support of our friends and community partners, our ability to be there for our neighbors would be greatly diminished.
Making sure our shelves and freezers are stocked with the basics is crucial:
Protein Sources
Tuna and assorted canned meats
Canned beans
Frozen meats (beef, chicken, pork, fish)
Meal Foundations
Boxed meals (mac and cheese, tuna helper, beef helper)
Pasta and sauces
Rice
Canned soups
Nutrition Essentials
Cereal and oatmeal
Frozen or canned fruits and vegetables
Personal Care Items
Toothpaste and toothbrushes
Soap, shampoo, and conditioner
This list is a starting point. Don't hesitate to donate other shelf-stable items you have available. And if you have questions, we're just a phone call away.
