With just a few hours left to go in 2024, I'm full of gratitude for the year that was. Every chance we get to carry out our mission and live out our values is a gift, and this year gave us so many opportunities to do both.
If I could send you a 2024 recap video that contains a behind-the-scenes look at the work we do every single day, I think you'd be amazed at how one of our core beliefs — no one rises alone — comes to life in the programs and services we provide. There's no shortage of people to thank for that, but let me start with our staff and volunteers who show up ready to serve. They're the backbone of Neighborhood House, and the reason we can help so many people each year.
At every step, our Board of Directors has provided crucial leadership, helping us make smart decisions and stay focused on our mission. And our donors and community partners have stood with us month after month. Their generosity is what allows us to be a hub of hope and empowerment our neighbors can depend on.
You're a vital part of this story too. Every time you engage with Neighborhood House — whether through giving, volunteering, or spreading the word — you help create possibilities for others. Your involvement enables us to be there when people need us most, and that makes such a difference.
On this point, the wisdom of the Bible is unsurpassed: “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
That spirit of reaching out, of being there to help, is what defines Neighborhood House. And we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for helping us create a place where our neighbors can find support, encouragement, and belonging all year long.
