Our People, Our Strength: William Evans

Seventeen years! That's how long William Evans has been welcoming people at Neighborhood House, making sure the phone gets answered and everyone gets where they need to go.

Whether you're walking through our front door or calling to ask about our programs, Will's the friendly voice and familiar face who makes sure you're taken care of.

As our afternoon, evening, and weekend receptionist, Will covers the 1-6 PM shift and stays to ensure any after-hours events run smoothly.

When many of us are winding down our workdays, Will's just hitting his stride — greeting parents picking up their kids, helping visitors find what they're looking for, and keeping the energy positive no matter how busy things get.

What keeps Will going after all these years? "The interaction I have with people and the community," he says. And you can see it in action every day — in the way he makes a quick stop at the front desk feel like you're catching up with an old friend.

When he's not holding things down at Neighborhood House, Will enjoys taking vacations with his family. And here's where we have to lovingly give him grief — despite working deep in Eagles territory, Will is a devoted Cowboys fan. We've learned to overlook this because his heart for our community is just too big to ignore!

Seventeen years of being exactly where people need him to be. Seventeen years of turning "Can you point me in the right direction?" into a moment of care and connection.
