Budgeting for the Overflow

May 2, 2020

The recent shutdown of essential services has stretched and challenged us in many ways. One of the purposes of the Neighborhood House Inc., Empowerment Center is to put information in the hands of our neighbors that will help improve their quality of life. We partnered with Mt. Joy United Methodist Church and NWM Got Soul to co-host our 2nd Chance Financial Literacy Workshop virtually.  With very short notice, roughly 20 people joined in on a Zoom meeting to learn how to create a budget,  establish saving goals, set up a savings account, track spending, and more.

The workshop was previously scheduled to take place in March as a face-to-face gathering at our Southbridge, Wilmington office, but had to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 shutdown.

We're hoping more people will join us for the next Financial Literacy Workshop on May 30th. This session will also be held online and is open to the general public. Register here.
