When Neighborhood House began in 1927,childcare was among the first services delivered and has continued to the present as one of our priority program areas.
In recent years, the challenging economics of early childhood programming have driven several prominent local agencies out of the business. Fortunately, however, our board of directors has found a way to continue providing this much needed service. By creating a partnership with Wilmington Head Start, we will be able to sustain our quality care in a more cost-effective manner.
Two Head Start classes now serve children three and four years old in addition to our Neighborhood House classes for children one and two, as well as before and after school care for neighborhood youth.
We welcome Wilmington Head Start to Neighborhood House and look forward to many happy years of working together on behalf of our children.
